Children’s Psychosocial Rehabilitation

NeuMind is consistently looking for ways to improve and add to the needs presented by the communities we serve. We are now implementing a new service at NeuMind called Children’s Psychosocial Rehabilitation (CPSR). CPSR is supported by empirical research in bringing effective change. At NeuMind we offer CPSR in a concentrated group format and will have these throughout the year. We encourage parents to utilize this resource to see greater change in their child.

What is Children’s Psychosocial Rehabilitation (CPSR)?

CPSR is a skills-based resource that NeuMind offers. The main focus of CPSR is to impart skills and tools to parents and the child/adolescent that facilitates an increase in functionality in various aspects of one’s life and their natural environment. The child/adolescent will learn these skills via: education, application, processing, coaching, modeling, and group

engagement. CPSR is another tool in our comprehensive care to help children and teens with behavioral/emotional needs to successfully live, thrive, and function within their home/social environments and community as a whole. We strive for an increase in social connection, decrease in maladaptive behaviors that prevent thriving, and achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

At NeuMind we provide CPSR in intensive groups during breaks from school. This allows for a large amount of information to be learned and implemented, while also experiencing a group environment, which is therapeutic in nature.

If your child is engaging in undesirable behaviors, these are the areas that CPSR can help with:

  • Anger management

  • ADD symptoms (i.e., concentration issues, lack of focus)

  • ADHD symptoms (i.e., impulsiveness, hyperactivity)

  • Bullying behaviors

  • Defiance/non-compliance

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Maladaptive behaviors/tantrums

  • Trouble communicating in a healthy manner

  • Needing improvement with social skills

  • Behind in areas of life due to behavior

  • Trouble with adjusting to family changes or dynamics

  • Trouble with adjusting to school or changes in school

CPSR helps to support the child and parent(s) to achieve long term, consistent, significant change.
